Miss Mickey

Bracelet: BaubleBar

Bailee wanted her picture taken

If you've been following my blog for awhile, you know that I graduated with a BA in Elementary Education 2 years ago. After college and student teaching, I moved back home as I loved my hometown, am a total family girl and had a dream of teaching at the my old elementary school. Little did I know how difficult it would be to get a job in my town, and spent the past two years subbing and doing a few long-term jobs. I applied for a few jobs here and there, but had my heart set on working at my elementary school.

When a job opened at my old school, I immediately applied and waited on pins and needles for an interview. Almost a month after applying, I got the call with an offer to interview! It was the most exciting yet terrifying experiences, as 5 people from the school drilled me with questions. Guys, I left the interview feeling absolutely defeated. I stumbled over my words, repeated myself and didn't think there was any way they would call me with good news.

Over a week later, I got the call. I GOT THE JOB! I am so excited to share with you that I will have my own classroom next year and be teaching 1st grade! I am sure I will have plenty of stories to share with you and plenty of 'teacher' outfits!

I have two distinct styles. Teacher and NON-teacher. I think you will have a pretty easy time telling what I wore to school VS what I wore on the weekend! For example, these pictures were taken after a day of subbing. I definitely love wearing dresses in the classroom and love mixing prints!

Anyways, I'm over the moon about my new adventure and am so excited (and a little nervous) about having my own group of kiddos next year! Can't wait to share with you!!

The Dress of Summer

Necklace: Boutique
Hat: Target - similar

It's this time of year that I always start the hunt for a new summer IT dress. The only qualification? It has to be white. There's nothing like a fresh, crisp white dress to usher in the first days of summer. A little white dress that can see me through breezy summer days of running errands or a special date night is a summer wardrobe must have.
This little white dress from Chicwish meets all of my summer needs. I love that it's white (DUH!) but has a unique floral pattern that's fun and airy for those humid summer days and nights. I know I'm going to be wearing this way too often this summer, it's just the easiest, cutest LWD.

Doing a little linking up today!

Daisy Pop

Hat: Target - similar

I'm obsessed with this hat/sunnies combo. I can't stop. I feel like this would the the perfect place for me to insert a #sorrynotsorry if that was appropriate. It's just how I feel guys. I'm sorry if you are getting tired of seeing it, but really...#sorrynotsorry. Be prepared to see it way too much this summer.

This outfit is the epitome of everything I'm loving lately. Every single one of these pieces is on heavy rotation and will continue to be throughout the coming months. You've probably already figured this out considering the shoes and hat/sunnies (as mentioned above) have been featured a least 10 times andddd it's not even June.

Can we just talk about this dress though?! THE CUTEST DRESS EVER. Not even joking. When I received it, I was a little unsure about the print. It's pretty bright and bold, but the second I put it on, I fell in love. It's the perfect little shift dress and such a fun piece for summer. I'm not going to lie, I definitely had this on for about an hour after I received it, prancing around the house and looking in every mirror...yeah, it's one of THOSE. I'm loving all of Fashion Union's items, but especially their fun printed dresses. I already have a wish list, including this, this, this and this because if you love something why not buy it in every color...right?!

Pretty Pretty Princess

Sunnies: Anthropologie - similar

Do you remember the game Pretty Pretty Princess? A game where the goal was to collect plastic jewels and ultimately the plastic crown to be named princess of plastic? I LIVED for that game. Once I won, I felt like princess for the entire day, wearing my shiny crown and clip on earrings until bedtime. There was nothing better than that feeling that in some sense you were actually princess...even if it came from winning a board game. It all made sense in my five year old mind.

As a grown up, re-creating that memory comes simply from wearing amazing clothing that makes you feel like a princess.
Take this skirt for example. The moment I tried it on, as absolutely cheesy as it sounds, I was 5 again and had just won a battle round of Pretty Pretty Princess winning the ultimate honors.

This skirt from Chicwish is beyond gorgeous. I love the floaty fabric and the pretty nude color that goes with just about  anything. I love that I now own something that I can throw on whenever I need a dash of that 5 year old princess magic...and you better believe I will be wearing this any chance I get.
To compliment a more sophisticated style, I decided to forgo the plastic earrings and crown and don some polka dots (a little 5 year old me coming through), a faux leather jacket and of course a bright statement necklace.

I have to say, Chicwish is one of my latest online shopping obsessions. I browse the site daily as they are always getting new pieces in! They have unique items at great prices and such pretty pieces. Check them out...I'm obsessed.
