May Favorites

{May Favorites}
The things I've been loving all month long

Daily Look: I discovered DailyLook this winter, but did not make a purchase until recently. Needless to say, I am now obsessed. For those of you that don't know, DailyLook is an online shopping experience like none other. Every day, they release a handful of outfits featuring the latest trends and the pieces that you have seen everywhere. I love that they actually style entire outfits that you can purchase, or you have the option to shop piece by piece like a regular online store. I check DailyLook every day just for inspiration. Check it out now and sign up HERE to receive $10 off your first purchase. Here are some current outfits I'm drooling over...
I need floral overalls in my life ASAP.

These leggings paired with the nude is so chic! I definitely see this as something I could re-create!

Fingers crossed I don't cave and buy this entire outfit...

Not crazy about the shoes...but that dress. Summer simplicity at it's finest.

Target Glitter Sandals: These babies are by far one of the best purchases I have ever made. So great in fact, that I have considered buying a backup pair. I've actually had these since April, but did not wear them until May. Say what!?! I know...I can't believe I made my feet wait that long to enjoy a comfortable, glittery target sandal party either. The Lavada Slide Sandals (otherwise known as Target Glitter Sandals) are only $16.99 at your nearest Target. Buy them now (HERE). You can thank me later :)

Game of Thrones: I didn't think that Game of Thrones would be my cup of tea, but boy was I wrong. My boyfriend and I started watching the first season and we became hooked fast. It has everything any epic story requires...action, romance, adventure, and a few seriously attractive actors (I'm sort of crushing on Jon Snow). We are almost already caught up and I'm getting a little anxious thinking about what I will do without any new episodes. I started reading the first book and I'm really enjoying it, although I think it will take me at least 2 months to get through (it's over 800 pages!). For the first time, I'm glad I watched the show before reading the book, as it allowed me to grasp what is going on and help me to remember who is who (it can be confusing at times). A warning to those of you who are thinking of watching it...as it is HBO, it definitely has mature content (in the words of my bff..."it's filthy"). For those of you who are not phased by this warning, I definitely recommend watching it! Let me know what you think!
Season 1 on DVD! And pringles...

My monthly favorites including Game of Thrones...and pringles (I guess this should be on my monthly favorites list, too!)

The Great Gatsby: I read the book for the first time, saw the movie and have been listening to the soundtrack non-stop this month. Im obsessed with everything Gatsby. OBSESSED. Enough said. What are your thoughts?!

This song though. You all know my love for Lana. It's perfection.

What were some of your favorites this month?

Florals, Glitter and...Leather?

Top: 'Garden Grove Blouse' c/o August Wrinkle (On Sale Now!!)
Skirt: 'Vegan Leather Skater Skirt' - Tobi - Similar version at DailyLook HERE (sign up HERE to receive $10 off your first purchase!)
Sandals: 'Lavada Slide Sandles' from Target
Ring: 'Floral Fantasy Ring' via Jewelmint

One fall and winter piece I'm not particularly ready to put away for the warmer months? My vegan skater skirt. I love this skirt, which you may now realize as I've worn it HERE, HERE  and even HERE. I love how versatile it is and love that I sort of feel a little bit BA when I wear it. Not so much when my boyfriend tells me I look like I'm wearing plastic...but hey, whatevs, I own it.

To add a little girly-ness to this tougher piece, I added this absolutely gorgeous top from August Wrinkle. Seriously guys, the photos of this piece on the website do not do it justice. From the sheer material and the pretty floral print to the cutout in the back (you know this is my favorite:) ) and the slits in the arms, this top is the perfect spring/summer piece. I love that it has so many great qualities (when did I start talking about my clothing like they were people...?) that it can easily be the center of attention with jeans or leggings. It's so cute. So cute. Of course for the finishing touch, I added my new favorite Target sandals. Best purchase ever. Just sayin.

Tea Time - Hawaii Outfit 6

Dress: Floral Print Cut Out - Get it HERE
Shoes: DV by Dolce Vita

My very last outfit post from Hawaii. It's about time. I hesitated sharing these as I'm not super happy with the quality of the photos. Remember how I said that quite a few of my photos didn't turn out? These were just on the border, but I'm sharing them with you anyways (although, don't be surprised if you see this dress often :) ).

To tell you the truth, I'm not exactly sure where I purchased this dress as I have seen it EVERYWHERE (Lulu's, Nastygal, Tobi, Necessary Clothing...the list goes on). I fell in love the minute I saw it the first time, but it was sold out in my size. I was bummed as I knew it was the perfect dress to take on vacation with me. Luckily, it soon started popping up everywhere. Seriously though, it's too cute and these pictures do not do it justice. For one thing, it has a darling, vibrant floral print and tulle lining in the skirt that make it feel fit for a tea party. My family called me "Alice" all night when I wore this to dinner on our last night in Hawaii. Not going to lie, my love for Disney had me totally digging the Alice in Wonderland feel of this dress:) Second, these cut outs though! I love that they bring a littleeee something sexy, that prevents this dress from being too over the top cutesy. I felt it best to leave this outfit accessory free (minus some rings) and paired it with my favorite flatforms for my last night in Hawaii.

PS Happy Memorial day weekend! I hope you have a wonderful, LONG, relaxing few days! One of my favorite online boutiques, August Wrinkle, is having a Memorial weekend sale. Use the code MEMORIAL15 at checkout to get %15 off your entire purchase. Happy shopping:)

Pineapple Please!

Pineapple

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 /

With summer coming, you can't get much cuter than a sweet pineapple print. I have been obsessing over anything and everything pineapple. Seriously, pineapples are the cutest thing. Yes, fruits can totally be cute. I have a very similar dress, purse and shoes, but am waiting patiently for it to warm up before I wear it. Therefore, here is my dream Memorial weekend outfit (if it's warm), complete only with a drink with an umbrella:) You better believe you will be seeing me rock an outfit almost identical to this soon!

Something Borrowed

Top: 'Need You Now' Top in Cream - c/o August Wrinkle - Similar option from Urban Outfitters HERE
Jeans: American Eagle - Similar HERE
Necklace: Forever 21 - Identical version HERE
Ring: Forever 21
Shoes: DV by Dolce Vita 'Java' - On SALE HERE

Behold all of my current obsessions all wrapped into one.
Crochet Top: This top from August Wrinkle is my dream top. I love peplum. I love crochet. I love cream. I love tops that show off a little back. This top has all of that rolled in to one figure flattering shirt of perfection.

Ripped Denim: I love denim with a little attitude. These are my all time favorite jeans/jeggings (I LOVE AMERICAN EAGLE DENIM). I bought another pair this past fall and they have gone missing. I have been missing them for over a month now (along with two other shirts), and I can't stop obsessing over it. Why? Because they were my favorite and I am weirdly obsessive with taking care and keeping track of my clothing and it is SO unlike me to lose clothes. So really, where did they go. I've looked everywhere (and I mean everywhere) and it's doubtful that they just walked off.....

Ankle Booties: You already know my love for these shoes. They go with everything...just sayin.

Necklace: Okay, so I purchased this necklace for my sister for Christmas and now I'm obsessed with it and want to wear it with everything. I find myself borrowing it way too frequently. Luckily, I recently saw this identical version at Maurices....I think owning this necklace may be in my very near future:)

Do any of you with siblings ever find yourself giving them things you plan on borrowing?

Whale Watching - Hawaii Outfit 5

Romper: Forever 21 (OLD) - Get the look with southwestern printed shorts HERE, a cactus printed romper HERE or a pretty tribal printed romper HERE
Hat: Forever 21 - similar HERE and HERE
Necklace: Old Navy
Sunnies: Ray-Ban 'Erika' - Get them HERE
Sandals: Report

To tell you the truth, I totally spaced on my leftover Hawaii pictures! So glad I remembered these as it was one of our best days there!

While in Hawaii, we saw a ton of Humpback Whales. It was probably one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Everywhere you looked, they were jumping out of the water or splashing around, and I could have sat for hours just waiting and watching for them. Since taking Marine Biology in high school, I kind of have an obsession with sea life, whales in particular, so I was ridiculously excited. They are amazing, gigantic, beautiful and majestic creatures and seeing them in the wild is really awe-inspiring. Yeah, I'm a nerd:) My family decided that we wanted to get up close and personal and went on a little whale watching excursion. We saw a ton of whales, but getting pictures was a little tricky. I've included a few below, but they aren't the best quality. Honestly though, pictures don't do it justice. To sum it up...whales are AMAZING!

It was a pretty hot and muggy day, so I opted to wear a lightweight southwestern printed romper. I purchased this romper over 2 years ago and it remains one of my favorite pieces. So wishing I would have bought the other color! I put on a pretty beaded necklace, sandals, and a fedora to keep my hair in control during my whale watching adventure.

Mama and Baby - saying hello!
 Fins!
 So much closer than appears...amazingggg.

May Flowers

Top: Old Navy - similar HERE and HERE
Shorts: c/o Rire Boutique
Necklace: GroopDealz
Nails: OPI 'Monsooner or Later'

You've probably seen the coral J.Crew version of this necklace EVERYWHERE, as it is popping up like May flowers left and right. I've seen a few bloggers style it and automatically fell in love. The problem? The hefty price tag and the fact that it's sold out everywhere. Boo.
When I saw that GroopDealz had a ridiculously similar dupe in a rainbow of colors for just $20, I snatched it up. They are sold out now, but fingers crossed they bring it back so I can add a few more colors to my summer wardrobe!

The weather has been SO warm lately, allowing me to break out my shorts. Yes, this makes for one happy girl. These scalloped beauties were sent to me from Rire Boutique, and I am IN LOVE. Not only do they have the sweetest polkadot print, but they also have a scalloped hemline and are highwaisted. Yes,  I know what you are thinking...PERFECTION. I paired them with a plain white blouse and my new favorite necklace for a perfect May outfit. While these shorts are not available on Rire Boutique at the moment, follow Rire on facebook to catch updates on the adorable stuff they are stocking. Trust me guys, they are one of my favorites!

The finishing touch? These amazing wedges from Yes Walker. I have been looking for the perfect pair of oxford wedges and could not be more happy with this pair. They are comfortable and easy to walk in (A MUST for any type of wedge/heel in my book!) and look so cute with anything and everything. Check out Yes Walker now and find out about their buy one get one free promotion featuring many great shoes and bags!

*While the shoes and shorts were sent to me by Rire and Yeswalker, opinions are ENTIRELY my own!

Festival

Top: 'Crochet Knit Pullover' c/o Rire Boutique
Skirt: H&M Bodycon Dress
Necklace: Forever 21
Ring: Forever 21
Hat: Roxy 'Autumn' - find it HERE
Boots: Delia's - OLD - adore this Steve Madden option HERE

You know when you have been looking for the perfect item (for example, the perfect chambray or blazer) and you finally find it? The second you try it on and you know, you feel absolutely triumphant and giddy and you instantly start imagining all the different ways you can wear it. These are my current feelings towards this crochet knit pullover from Rire Boutique. The crochet detailing is gorgeous, the fit is perfect and slightly flowy, and it has super cute sleeves. This is a must for my closet this summer, as it is the perfect top to throw on over a dress or tank for cooler days and evenings and how cute would it look as a swimsuit coverup?!

I paired it with a black bodycon dress, a bold turquoise necklace, combat boots and my favorite hat for a festival worthy outfit (coachella next year, anyone?).
