Layerbility

Jeans: American Eagle - love THESE

If you haven't already noticed, my Free People pieces tend to be on heavy rotation. I love them for their layerbility. Haven't heard that word? That's because I made it up. Just now. What is layerbility? The ability for pieces to be easily layered. I know what you are thinking....so clever, Ashley!
In the winter, layering for warmth is a must. There is nothing I love more than being all layered up and cozy. It's my favorite. I mean if I have to bear the cold, I might as well be wearing as many clothes as I possibly can to deflect it as much as possible, right?
Sometimes this works to my disadvantage.
The other day, I ran out the door to meet my boyfriend who was picking me up...
Boyfriend: Gives me a look
Me: "What?"
Boyfriend: Shakes head..."Nothing."
Me: "No, really...what?!"
Boyfriend: "You are just really into the baggy stuff lately."
Me: "Oh, it's layering. You don't like it?"
Boyfriend: Silence
Me: "You don't like it?!?!?!"
Boyfriend: "Hobo girl style."

There you have it. My layering sometimes makes me look hobo. It's okay though. I'm totally owning it.

Snowflakes

Boots: Mom's circa the late 80's

These pictures were snapped this weekend during some freak snow flurries. Friday was absolutely gorgeous with a clear, sunny sky and the 50 degree temps had melted any clues that there had ever been snow. Saturday, I woke to snow flakes and 30 degrees, and it continued to snow ALL day. Although I am a summer girl through and through, I don't mind the snow when I don't have to drive anywhere, I'm sitting inside, on the weekend or when dressed appropriately :)
So wearing snow boots (my mom's, from the 80's....I like them) and my favorite hat, I ventured out for about 10 minutes to admire the pretty snowflakes and throw a few snowballs at my sister. That was good enough for me. Then it was back inside for some netflix and hot chocolate.

Meet my latest obsession...overalls. My sweet boyfriend got me this absolutely perfect pair from Free People and I would be lying if I told you I didn't want to wear them every single day. Thank you sweet boyfriend of mine for knowing me so well!

Valentines 4 Looks/1 Boot: Outfit #4 Here Comes the Sun (The Sunday Spot #19)

 Dress: Target (old)
Necklace: Forever 21 'Bejeweled Bib Necklace' - Gifted from bestie (Thanks Katie!!)
Sunnies: Anthropologie 'Ava Tortie Shades'  OBSESSING over THESE

The weather here cannot make up it's mind! One minute it's 30 degrees and snowing and the next it's a warm sunshiny 54! It's crazy! I'm keeping my finger's crossed that good ol' Punxsutawney Phil made a mistake and did NOT see his shadow and sunshine is headed our way! Groundhogs make mistakes too, guys!

For my 4th and final Valentine's inspired look, I embraced the sunshine and put on a pretty pink and white floral dress, denim jacket and gorgeous minty bib necklace for extended Valentine's day weekend plans, perfect for a cutesy stroll downtown through the shops and brunch. It definitely made me want to pack away all my winter gear, but with snow in the forecast, I'm forgoing that just yet but sending good thoughts to spring to show up a little early!

Tie-Dye Maxi Skirt: There is nothing better than a cute maxi skirt! I am loving this adorable tie-dye  version that would be so easy to wear now with a sweater and boots and in the summer with a tank and sandals! Effortlessly chic!

Midnight Dream Statement Necklace: You already know my love for statement necklaces! I adore the fresh color combo on this one and it's priced at a sweet $9!

Boutique Fashion Scarves: There are SO many color/pattern options to choose from in this adorable lightweight scarf! The only problem is deciding what pattern to get!!

Single Fan Fringe Pendant Necklace: A cute, colorful pop of color necklace is the perfect whimsy touch to any outfit!
