7 Swimsuit Trends to Try Now

One thing I love about summer? SWIMSUITS! There is nothing I love more than a cute little kini! I also find that I am a little more adventurous when it comes to picking out my suits. I love bold patterns and fun details (gimmie alllll the ruffles!). There are so many cute swimsuit trends out there right now that I'm sharing 7 of my favorites!! 

 Like I said above, I am all about the ruffles lately, and what better way to wear them than on your kini?! I love a sweet ruffle strap or flouncy off the shoulder ruffle bikini top. It's easy to pair a cute ruffle top with a pair of denim shorts when heading to the lake or beach! I've even seem some pretty cute ruffle-y one pieces that double as the cutest bodysuit! A lot of the suits I'm sharing below have a little ruffle incorporated! 

This trend has been around for a few years and I hope it is hear to stay! A high-waisted swimsuit is a great way to add a little more coverage but gives you a confidence boosting silhouette. I definitely loved having that higher waist on the beach in Mexico when I indulged in quesadillas and tacos!!

A lace up one pieces has quickly become the must have suit of summer. Lace up tops have been all the rage for the past few months, so it's no wonder it would take over the swimsuit scene too!! I love pairing a lace up one piece with shorts. It doubles as a body suit and is the perfect outfit for a day spent on the water or at the beach.

I am all for a fun printed suit! From fruits to bright prints and patterns, a printed suit is a great way to add a little whimsy into your summer wardrobe! I'm currently obsessing over this fun banana print suit and am thinking about throwing in this float for good measure. Summer fun at it's finest!

It's all about showing off a little shoulder with these suits! There are so many cute off the shoulder and one shoulder options out there! I especially love an off the shoulder top when I'm working on my tan! One shoulder has recently made a pretty big comeback and I love a one piece with this fun detail!

A suit with cutouts can add a flirty little touch to a suit! Cutouts on a solid bikini add a unique detail keeping the suit from being too simple. I personally love a one piece suit with cutouts, whether front and center or on the sides! This one is my favorite for the sweet bow tie detail above the cutout! 

Whether it's just a crocheted trim or the whole suit is crochet, this is one of my favorite trends! There are some GORGEOUS crochet suits out right now (like this one) that take this trend to a whole new level of beachwear!

Happy Monday friends!! With the 4th landing on a Tuesday this year,  I feel like the weekend festivities lasted all week long. Yesterday we relaxed around the house, watching movies in the AC and I feel ready to take on the week!! Speaking of this week, do you know what starts this Thursday?! The Nordstrom Anniversary sale! I was automatically drawn to the bright floral print, but the ruffles definitely sold me! I love fun pieces like this that require minimal accessorizing and can be dressed up or down. I wore this for a relaxed date night with my favorite sandals and summer clutch. It's the perfect airy piece for hot summer nights! 

You're Invited: Nordstrom Sale Rundown!

It's that time of year again!! The most wonderful time of year...aka the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I look forward to this sale EVERY year! The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is unlike any other! Typically, sales feature older merchandise at a marked down price, making room for fresh inventory for a new season. The Nordstrom sale does the opposite, offering NEW fall merchandise at a discounted price. When I say new, I mean fresh fall styles that haven't hit the shelves yet. Basically you are getting the newest fall pieces at a sale price!

When is the sale? 
The sale officially opens to the public on July 21st, but you can get a sneak peek, and even start shopping early (what?!?) if you are a cardholder starting July 13th! 

Becoming a card holder is EASY! 

I know what you are thinking. Credit card?! No thanks! 

While there is a credit card option, I prefer the debit card. This is easy peasy, lemon squeezy. This basically attaches your bank information (your debit card) to Nordstrom. Meaning all you have to do is give them your routing number and account number and you get a new Nordstrom debit card! Anytime you use your Nordstrom debit card, it is directly taken out of your bank account. No interest and no debt! 

This way, you get to shop 8 days early. This is definite bonus as you get access to the sale before the public and get first pick on hot fall finds at their sale price before they sell out! 

What's on sale?

Specifics won't be known until the sale officially begins, but the Nordstrom Anniversary catalog gives a great sneak peek of some of the offerings! I've already browsed it a few times and circled some goodies I have my eye on! I love shopping for new fall pieces to add to my wardrobe, especially boots and booties!! I always find great deals on new staples for work too, because we all know one of the best parts of being a teacher is the back to school shopping! It's a great time to stock up on fall and winter must haves for the entire family! 

Where to shop??

Obviously you can head to your nearest Nordstrom to shop the sale, but I prefer shopping online from the comfort of my own home! I also live 3 hours from the nearest Nordstom...soooo there's that! Online shopping is easy and with free returns and exchanges the process of finding those must have pieces is effortless! Throughout the sale (July 13th - August 6th), I will have posts featuring my sale favorites on the blog! I plan on sharing my top sale picks, shoe favorites, styling tips, teacher faves and more! Easy Summer Gingham Dress

Hey friends! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July! I spent the day at the lake, enjoying the water and sunshine! 

Every year I have a few dresses that are on constant rotation through the summer. I love easy to wear pieces that are comfortable and can be thrown on to run errands or for dinner after a day spent at the lake. This gingham dress has quickly become one of my go to's. It's under $30 and when I received it, I was blown away by the quality! I highly recommend this piece if you are looking for a summer steal!
