Okay so I have a confession to make. I adore disney songs! They are so catchy it's not even funny. This is a prime example of how I am 23 going on 12. On top of this, I am a very inspired dresser...therefore, when I saw this dress yesterday morning while listening to a little Pocahontas (I promise my music was on shuffle...it's not like thats all I listen too! :] ) , I automatically put it on with a big, colorful, beaded necklace and native inspired sandals. Channeling the amazing songstress, beauty herself? I think so! Although I doubt Pocahontas would wear this frilly little number while rowing her canoe down the river...

Wearing this outfit made me feel like I should be on the beach in the bahamas drinking a tropical drink with an umbrella. I am obsessed with tying up my shirts lately...I tie EVERYTHING (as you will soon see). Keeping with my recent love of summer simplicity, I wore a bit of mascara, threw my hair into a messy pony and added these fantastic southwest inspired earrings to jazz the outfit up a bit.

This week has been a scorcher, with temperatures hitting as high as 105 degrees. When i'm not wearing a swimsuit, I have been dressing in light and airy pieces with little to no jewelry (a wrist full of arm candy is my exception:] ), minimal makeup (only mascara today), and air dried hair.

Who Wears Short Shorts

The 100 degree temperatures have left me wearing swimsuits pretty much every day. I live in the pool or the lake near my house, emerging only when necessary. It is so hot, but I can't complain as I have craved the heat for so long.
I have never been much of a shorts girl, preferring dresses or skirts in the summer months, but lately I have found I have become OBSESSED. I love anything and everything from high waisted, neon brights and studs to cute prints, lacy details and yes, even ode's to America. Who wears short shorts? This girl!
