Yeah...I Really Own That: Sarah from Caring Cowls

Every closet has at least ONE of those "Yeah...I really own that" pieces.
Remember when I shared with you my Yeah...I Really Own That piece and featured my Miley Cyrus Playsuit?

Just for a refresher: What is a “Yeah…I really own that” piece you might ask? It is a piece of clothing that you purchased at some point in time and are not really sure why. At the time of purchase it seemed like a great idea, but eventually you forget all of the reasons why/how it made its way into your closet and are left with only feelings of buyer's remorse or embarrassment. You would think these would be the first things to go when you have a major closet purge, but for some reason or another you just can’t let them go.

I recently decided that each month, I will invite one of my favorite bloggers to guest blog and share a"Yeah...I Really Own That" piece on Twenties Girl Style. Yay!

So, let me introduce my first "Yeah...I Really Own That" Guest Blogger for November...
Sarah from Caring Cowls

I have always loved dolphins.  So much so, I have had my same stuffed animal "Dolphie" (who squeaks!) since I was two years old.  Dolphie and I have such a strong connection that I actually threatened to stay in Mexico when I left him in a cab during a family vacation.  Thankfully, my dad went on a rescue mission across Cozumel and saved him right before we needed to board our flight home.  Obviously, I have an impenetrable connection to my Dolphie, and by connection, dolphins.

A couple years ago I was out shopping with one of my besties, Ashley (Twenties Girl Style blogger), and we saw these dolphin shirts at Old Navy.  Without trying them on or giving them a second look, we both purchased one.  I am sad to report that this shirt is not of the best quality.  It is very see-through and has an odd shape which can make it extremely unflattering.  I think I have worn this shirt twice (including this outfit) yet I am unable to let it go due to the "dolphin connection".

In an attempt to actually make this shirt wearable, I paired it with some skinny jeans, a jersey blazer, and some boots.  Due to the colder weather I accessorized with a soft yellow Caring Cowl (of course) and a freshwater pearl ring.  I finally found a way to make my childish shirt presentable in the adult world.

A few days ago, my sister took some family photos for our Aunt and Uncle and their family out at our family orchard. I haven't visited the orchard since this summer, and was awestruck by the beauty fall has created under the canopy of trees. I've always been a summer girl, but the tree's in all of their leaf changing glory had me re-thinking things...I think I'm sort of, kind of, finally falling for fall. Guys, it was seriously incredible. I so wish that you all could see it in person as these pictures hardly do it justice. I hope to visit again soon, so you might just see more photos from this location :)

On a style note, I am adoring these high waisted shorts from August Wrinkle! I have always wanted a pair of higher waisted shorts that I could pair with tights and boots for fall/winter and these are the PERFECT pair. I love how they fit and adore the cream and brown checkered print. They are going to be extremely easy to style, as they look good with just about any top, whether dressing them up or down. I felt very fall appropriate in this outfit, especially because of my chunky sweater and cozy cowl!

PS August Wrinkle is currently having a moving sale! Use the code ALOHAHAWAII to get %25 of your purchase. Valid until November 7th!!

Tribal Days

Dress: c/o August Wrinkle - get it HERE
Jean Jacket: Forever21
Boots: Guess?
Necklace: Forever21

We have been having the wackiest weather the past few weeks! From rainy and high 30s/low 40s to sunny and mid to upper 50s/60s. I can't keep up! I've started layering up, that way my outfits are more accommodating to the ever changing temps. After a week straight of rain, I was so excited to see it clear  up and warm up this past weekend.

I recently received this dress from August Wrinkle, and have been dying to wear it. This dress is definitely one of those pieces that is extremely versatile. While I'm so excited to layer it up with tights and chunky sweaters on colder days, this weekend it was just warm enough to wear it with a jean jacket and combat boots. Telling you I love this dress is the understatement of the year... I am OBSESSED with this dress! The vibrant tribal print, fit and feel make this dress one of those pieces that you could easily live in for the next month or so. It's one of those pieces that just makes you feel pretty while wearing it...those are the best kind, in my opinion:)

If you haven't checked out August Wrinkle, do so now! They have quickly become one of my favorite online boutiques for their charming and unique high quality pieces.

This weekend I made the 3.5 hour trek to visit my boyfriend at college. As I recently graduated from the same college, it was nice being back to my old stomping grounds. I had a great time with the boy, but it was definitely hard to leave Sunday afternoon. Long distance relationships are hard and while Skype, phone calls and texts help to make things easier, they are definitely no comparison to being face to face!

If any of you follow me on Instagram (@twentiesgirlstyle) you might have seen a little sneak peak of this outfit as this is one of the outfits I wore on my weekend getaway. I'm pretty much obsessed with the color combination of purple, black and leopard. I also love the addition of the combat boots I recently re-discovered in a box under my bed. Not sure how these managed to get lost, but I am so glad to have found them...to be honest, they are pretty much all I have been wearing since the re-discovery!

Also, I ran out of room on Blogger/Picasa for my pictures! I used Photobucket to upload, but noticed they were deleted this morning and had to re-upload. I'm sure many of you have run into this problem, so what are your solutions? Do you use Photobucket or some other uploading site or pay the extra to get a bigger Picasa storage? Help!

On another note, I am so excited to announce the winner of the $25 Rire Boutique gift certificate, Ali from The Drawing Mannequin! Congrats Ali, I can't wait to see what you spend your gift certificate on!!
