Checkered Dress: Look 2 - Weekend

You might remember seeing this dress a few weeks ago when I showed you how I wore it to work (here). There's nothing like a versatile dress that you can style for work and the weekend!  A checkered dress is a fun and easy print to mix and match for different occasions. This option from Sweetest Stitch is easily one of my favorites. The shirtdress style makes it flattering and easy to wear and you can't go wrong with black and white! For a Friday night date night, I paired it with an easy trench, my go to booties and of course a hat!

Maroon and Plaid #WIWT

 Top: c/o DSTLD // Jeans: c/o DSTLD// Poncho/cape: c/o Gentlefawn // Bag: Tory Burch Tote //
Hat: Old - similar here// Boots: Nordstrom BP 'Trolley' //

Happy Thursday and October!
Noticing anything different? That's right! I finally got a new layout and could not be happier with it!!

Wearing this cozy fall outfit the other day was pretty exciting. Although I am a summer girl (I mention this too often), it was fun FINALLY getting to wear a few of my colder weather pieces! When I took these pictures it was extremely windy, hence my scarf/cape blowing in every direction. Paired with a simple white tee and my fave grey skinnies, I am finally ready for fall!

This week's blogger of the week from last week's link up is Erin of Happily Howards! I've been dying to try the sleeveless trench look but have been a little unsure of how to style it! Erin completely inspired me with her leather leggings and open toe shoes combo! Trendy and chic, this is definitely something I could see myself re-creating this fall!

Fall Essentials: Suede Booties

It's officially fall and my fall wardrobe is ready to come out in full force. At the top of the pile? Booties! Boots of any kind have always been one of my favorite things about fall, but booties are easily my favorite type as they can be worn year round. This year I have been drawn to anything suede. There are SO many fabulous suede options out there, that I might have even picked up a pair...or three. The great thing about booties is that I know I will get a ton of wear out of them, as I wear my current booties 24/7! Shop some of my favorites below!

 Hello friends!
First off, I want to thank you for your support and sweet messages on yesterday's post. It honestly was so helpful reading how many of you have gone through the process of the death of a pet, and how difficult it can be losing a furry, four legged family member. They are definitely one of a kind creatures with their own individual personalities that are irreplaceable.

On a happier note, I was so excited to find these pictures from our mini-moon in early August that I forgot to share! E and I went to Victoria, Canada and had an amazing time sightseeing and enjoying lots of wonderful food (poutine anyone?!). The weather ended up being chillier than I anticipated, so I ended up practically living in this scarf while we were there. This is one of the only days I actually looked decent, as the rest I was completely bundled in whatever I could possibly put on.

If you've never been to Victoria, I definitely recommend it! I have never eaten so much good food in my life! The sites were beautiful, and we enjoyed just strolling around the city and riding the water taxi's across the harbor. I can't wait to return!
