Oops! These pictures are from Easter, almost a month ago, and I totally spaced on sharing them with you!
My Easter was pretty relaxing, church and a family get together, so I wanted to dress cute but comfortable. There is nothing more classic than a maxi dress and jean jacket combo! It's definitely my go to this time of year! I kept my jewelry pretty classic too, just a bracelet and a pretty statement necklace that added a touch of color to my outfit.
My favorite part of the day besides celebrating Jesus? Spending it with my cutie BF. I sure do adore this boy and am so lucky to have had him in my life for the past 7 years....crazy right?? Anyways, I'm not sure he knew he would be making an appearance on TGS, but really, how cute is he??

Comfy Casual

Leggings: M Rena 'Tummy Tuck Leggings' - in black ankle length c/o Shop Adorn

My favorite way to spend lazy weekend days is in oversized tee's and leggings. This is such a cute and comfy look that can be easily accessorized if you decide to get off the couch and head out the door.
I don't know about you, but I just about live in leggings, especially in the fall and winter. In the winter, I definitely prefer them over pants, as I can easily pair them with dresses and oversized tees and cardigans to achieve the perfect layered look I always crave. My only problem is that I tend to buy really cheap pairs that are either A.) see through (AKA the fabric is ridiculously thin) B.) are ill fitting or C.) wear out really quickly. My typical favorites are from Target, but I went through at least 4 PAIRS this winter and they aren't very thick. I've tried a few different options, but nothing seemed to fit all of the qualities I was looking for.

Thankfully, my wishes have been answered, as this amazing pair of M Rena leggings from Shop Adorn recently made it's way into my life and my days of thin, saggy, holey leggings are over. If you have this same problem, look no further. THESE LEGGINGS ARE AMAZING! Not only are they decently thick, with the perfect amount of stretch, but staying true to their name,'Tummy Tuck Leggings', these leggings are perfectly high-waisted and ridiculously comfortable. There is really nothing better than a high-waisted legging that are as comfortable as yoga pants but perfectly acceptable to wear out and about. I will definitely be purchasing a few more pairs of these...I'm obsessed and ecstatic over finding the leggings of my dreams! Check out Shop Adorn's M Rena collection for more amazing finds!

A few more things I'm loving about this outfit?

Top: This is my favorite top lately! I love how flowy and oversized it is. Oh and stripes?! Really you can't go wrong!

Turban: My love for Rayna Jaye turbans is out of this world. Remember this one from last year? The perfect fix to a bad hair day or the cutest addition to a top knot, I wear my turbans all of the time. Check out Rayna Jaye's shop and fall in love with her amazing turbans...they come in the cutest patterns too!! My next turban purchase? Probably this or this

Bracelets: The bangles are awesome. I've rarely taken them off since receiving them. There is something so fun about a big, chunky bangle and I'm in love with the way they look together! Lauren of Belle Vie Designs is seriously talented! Belle Vie Designs has the cutest bangles...is it bad that I want a few more to add to my arm party??

iPhone Case: Flamingos are having a total moment lately, so when I saw this case from Kidogo Kidogo, I was automatically obsessed! What's even better than flamingos on your iPhone? The fact that by purchasing this case, one woman in Tanzania receives a mobile phone. This one for one program is amazing. Find out more here and choose your case from a few different adorable designs to give back

The Sunday Spot #25 - Chicwish and a Mary Kay Review!

If you haven't noticed, my current obsession is Chicwish. I've worn a few of their items here and here, and could not be more impressed. I love how beautiful and unique each piece is and the quality is outstanding. Both pieces I ordered came packaged neatly and 1. looked just like the photos and 2. were made of high quality fabric. What's even better? The prices are super affordable! I'm hooked. It's my newest site to check daily as they always have new arrivals! Check out a few of the items I'm currently craving and head over to Chicwish to check out the rest!

A few weeks ago, I received these samples of Mary Kay courtesy of Influenster. I've been trying them out since and here are my thoughts...

Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara ($15) : I really love the volume this mascara gives me. It definitely gives more than the average drugstore mascara! I also love that it stays on all day. I had no 'melting' issues that occasionally occur with other mascaras I've used. Cons? A little clumpy, but after perfecting the technique (slowly applying) I did not have this issue!

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist ($14) : I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It's a beautiful color with just the right amount of shimmer. It glides on and STAYS, which is something I must have in an eyeshadow! I would definitely purchase this product again!

Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush ($12) : This is a really beautiful glowy color. I loved the way it looks on, it's definitely very natural. I like a little bit brighter of blush, but love the formula and how it looks when applied!

Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder ($16): This product has become my new BFF. I have oily skin and by the end of the day, my face is usually pretty shiny. An application of this product after putting on all of my makeup was like a magic trick. I saw way less shine and it allowed my makeup to stay fresh all day. There were a few times I even applied this during the middle of the day and it allowed me to not have to re-do any of my makeup...I love that!

Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black ($18): This eyeliner is pretty awesome. It goes on amazingly well, and definitely gives the intense vibe you crave when going with a cat-eyed or smokey look! I'm not a huge eyeliner girl, and usually just stick to lining my upper lid, but this definitely gave me a new perspective!

Mary Kay Bronzing Powder ($18): This bronzer is also a new favorite of mine. It perfectly settles in to your skin to give you that sun kissed look you crave without looking orange. It's the perfect natural looking bronzer and I would definitely purchase this again!

Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Glos in Mango Tango ($14): This product completely changed my idea of lip gloss. I have never been that into lip gloss, since the days of middle school and the uber shiny glosses ruined my view. I don't like lipgloss that looks like you could see your reflection in it or is super sticky. This product is awesome. I loved the color, loved the perfect amount of shine and LOVED THAT IT ISN'T STICKY. New favorite.

Mary Kay Brushes: Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush ($10) and Cheek Brush ($14): Both brushes have the one quality I look for...softness. If I am using a brush on my face, it has to be soft! I loved that both of these were incredibly soft and applied the product nicely!

Overall, I am pretty impressed with these products! I always thought Mary Kay was for older women, but this has definitely changed my mind! I would definitely buy quite a few of these products again! I love that they have jumped on the mineral train and adore the cream eye colors and gel eyeliners! Check out these products and more at Mary Kay

Miss Mickey

Bracelet: BaubleBar

Bailee wanted her picture taken

If you've been following my blog for awhile, you know that I graduated with a BA in Elementary Education 2 years ago. After college and student teaching, I moved back home as I loved my hometown, am a total family girl and had a dream of teaching at the my old elementary school. Little did I know how difficult it would be to get a job in my town, and spent the past two years subbing and doing a few long-term jobs. I applied for a few jobs here and there, but had my heart set on working at my elementary school.

When a job opened at my old school, I immediately applied and waited on pins and needles for an interview. Almost a month after applying, I got the call with an offer to interview! It was the most exciting yet terrifying experiences, as 5 people from the school drilled me with questions. Guys, I left the interview feeling absolutely defeated. I stumbled over my words, repeated myself and didn't think there was any way they would call me with good news.

Over a week later, I got the call. I GOT THE JOB! I am so excited to share with you that I will have my own classroom next year and be teaching 1st grade! I am sure I will have plenty of stories to share with you and plenty of 'teacher' outfits!

I have two distinct styles. Teacher and NON-teacher. I think you will have a pretty easy time telling what I wore to school VS what I wore on the weekend! For example, these pictures were taken after a day of subbing. I definitely love wearing dresses in the classroom and love mixing prints!

Anyways, I'm over the moon about my new adventure and am so excited (and a little nervous) about having my own group of kiddos next year! Can't wait to share with you!!

xo Miss Mickey :)
