Yeah...I Really Own That

Every closet has at least one of those “Yeah…I really own that” pieces.

What is a “Yeah…I really own that” piece you might ask? It is a piece of clothing that you purchased at some point in time and are not really sure why. At the time of purchase it seemed like a great idea, but eventually you forget all of the reasons why/how it made its way into your closet and are left with only feelings of buyer's remorse or embarrassment. You would think these would be the first things to go when you have a major closet purge, but for some reason or another you just can’t let them go.

Introducing the “yeah…I really own that” monster hiding in my closet…..The Miley Cyrus Playsuit.

I've never been one to shop at Wal-Mart, but a few years back when the Miley Cyrus line came out I had to take a peak. For some reason, this romper and it's price tag jumped out at me and yes, you guessed it, it came home with me. Fast forward 2 years later and here it is, emerging from the depths of my closet for the first time.

Determined to make it work, I paired it with a blazer, wedges, a skinny belt and a top knot for a more sophisticated look. I'm still not sure how I feel about it and it might be on it's way to a better home soon, but what do you think??

Do you have a "Yeah...I Really Own That" piece of clothing?

Crochet Love and B&BW Haul

Crochet Sweater: American Eagle - other colors on sale HERE
Tank: American Eagle
Shorts: American Eagle
Necklace: Gift from the boyfriend:]
Ring: Forever21
Shoes: Madden Girl
Polish: China Glaze 'White Out' and 'Blonde Bombshell'

My love for colored jeans has expanded to colored shorts. This coral pair is my current favorite purchased from American Eagle's sale rack. I paired them with a subtly tie dyed tank and a crochet sweater for breezy weather. I am obsessed with this sweater and have been pairing it with everything lately making it my #1 summer staple.

PS the boyfriend got me this necklace as a gift for Christmas and I wear it all the time. He did good huh?!?

PS#2 I stopped by Bath and Body Works for their semi-annual sale (which I'm a total sucker for, I might add) and picked up some of my favorites for a steal! Among my favorites...this coconut lime verbena candle that smells like summer and body mist and shower gel in my new favorite scent, Dark Kiss.

Did you pick up anything at the sale?

An Old, New Favorite

Dress: Forever21
Necklace: Forever 21
Ring: Target
Purse: Melie Bianco via Little Black Bag
Shoes: Madden Girl
Nails: Essie 'Absolutley Shore'

While away at college, I did not have room for half of my clothes and was forced to pick and choose what to take and what to leave behind at home. Since moving home and having my closet re-united (at last!), I have discovered so many pieces I had completely forgotten I had. Case in point, this little dress purchased from forever21 over 2 years ago. I found it crammed in the back of my closet at home with the tags still on it and It has quickly become an oldie but goodie. I won't lie...I wore it twice this weekend!

Romp-tastic in a New Locale

Romper: Forever21

Necklace: Nordstroms - find other pretty druzy pendants HERE at Etsy.
Hat: Bow Trimmed Fedora - Find HERE at Forever21
Shoes: These are Report but my sister has THESE from American Eagle and they are similar

Growing up, my grandparents had the coolest yard. My cousins and I spent hours playing outdoors in our many secret forts, swimming in the pool, and playing tag on the spacious lawn. My Nana, an avid gardener, created a secret garden ambiance with a plethora of flowers and fairy lights that made many summer evenings unforgettable. But as all things go, over the years things changed. Cousins grew up, moved away and had kids of their own and the summer days spent all day outside at Nana and Papas became a thing of the past. I had forgotten how amazing the yard was until I visited yesterday and roamed the yard with my sister, enjoying the breathtaking view and flowers and laughing over memories from the past. I think I know where I will be spending my lazy summer days:]
