My Nana (Grandma) is selling her house. It's sort of a bittersweet feeling, as I grew up at this house, spending far more of my childhood there than my own home. I've been trying to spend as much time as possible there before she moves out in mid September and re-visiting childhood memories has made me ridiculously nostalgic. Growing up, the house was always surrounded with a beautiful, almost untamed garden. As a child, going through the gate to the spacious backyard was always a little like discovering the secret garden again and again. To this day, I still get that wonderful feeling left over from my childhood and it never fails to take my breathe away. This is something I will miss.
As for my maxi, I found this little gem at Target (where else?!). I am obsessed with the print and the beading at the top. I love that this dress can be worn with little to no jewelry and decided to pair it with a few bracelets for the perfect touch.
That maxi is amazing! love the detailing on the top. sorry to hear that your nana is moving out of her house...would it be too creepy for you to sneak back there even when she's gone? Haha just kidding. I'm sure you'll love her new place, too--afterall, the most important part is that she's in it! :)

Wow i love that dress. I already saw a picture of you in your pretty dress on instagram and i instantly loved it :-) do you know if target delivers to germany? when i was living in the states i loved going there and i spent so much money there haha i really miss it, it would be soooo cool if i could order some stuff at target
ReplyDeletebut anyway, i feel sorry for you that you are loosing a part of your childhood. i know what your talking about. my grandmother died a year ago and 6 month after my dad and his brothers sold her house because nobody was living there anymore and noone of our family wanted to keep the house. it was an old house and not very pretty but it was still part of us all and of my childhood. i remember the days that i spent at my grandparents, there was a big playground in the backyard and my grandfather also had some sheeps ... it was so nice all the time and i loved being there and now that my grandparents are dead and the house is sold sometimes i still feel a little awkward and everytime when i pass that house it makes my heart jump a little.
but i am pretty sure that you will love her new place. new doesnt mean that it has to be bad, it can be good too :-) so i wish you luck with all that :-)

I know that feeling. I grew up with my grandma too, only that the house still stands and we're not selling it. It's hard to let go sometimes but we have to move on from it.
